This option helps build the school community by involving school resource officers (SROs) in the instructional process. Certifying SROs in GRIT allows them to work with students and teachers, helping to strengthen the school community by increasing collaboration between members. Research demonstrates that incorporating SROs in school programming increases school cohesion and trust and improves school climate (Cipra & Hall, 2019). We believe that SROs are professionals who play an important role in the community and within the schools.
This option is available at no extra cost. You pay only for your other options (GRIT SEL or GRIT PLUS Mixed Athletics). An additional set of resources to learn about building the bridge between stakeholders as well as community activity plans are provided with this option. We separate the Community option to gather data for the various program models. We offer this program model free of charge to encourage community cohesion and trust. Any school who purchases at least 2 instructor certification trainings will receive a free certification training for one SRO.
